Precision Technologies, the MECHANICAL MANUFACTURING division of Benchmark Electronics, is looking for a career-minded Industrial Engineer III for our Concord, California location. Our client list reads like a “Who’s Who” of Original Equipment Manufacturers requiring precision mechanical production capabilities including close-tolerance machining and electromechanical clean room assembly. Our product lines include equipment for the Semiconductor, Aerospace, Healthcare and Scientific Instrumentation markets.
Essential Functions and Competencies
QUALIFICATIONS • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Effective interpersonal skills • Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required • Effective organization and prioritization skills • Demonstrate high attention to detail • Ability to work with diverse groups • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism. • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment. • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools. • Strong customer service and client focus • Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and WebEx conferencing software • Responsible for project management and execution including plan, design, implementation of best-in-class processes and equipment including delivery systems that enhance performance, reliability, maintainability and cost of ownership. • Propose and drive cross-functional projects. • Design optimized human interfaces: o Raw material delivery systems o Product flow and material handling systems. o WIP management and sizing o Kanban sizing o Ergonomic workstation design o Process optimization. o Factory and line layouts o Execution of Lean projects and activities o Time study analysis and capacity sizing. o Systems support (e.g. BAAN, PFS…) o PFMEA, DFA SME o IE quote lead • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications / Education / Experience
SUMMARY Develop, monitor and maintain accurate quantitative time standards. Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of production and workflow. Recommends methods to maximize the utilization of equipment and personnel. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES  Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and manufacturing and quality data to verify efficient utilization of operators and equipment.  Monitor and continuously improve production output to time standard performance. Coordinate line layout, workstation and warehouse improvement activities.  Designs and procures production tooling, fixtures, equipment and workstations to support high productivity and utilization of resources.  Creates Process instructions including Visual Aids, Checklists, and ISO procedures.  Prepares time studies for current products and estimates for proposed products.  Reduces or eliminate non-value added activities and waste using Lean methodologies.  Encourages site Lean engagement at all levels within the organization through close alignment and support of the site’s Lean Leader, Functional Management and General Manager.  Supports Lean VSM activity and site continuous improvement activities.  Monitors and reduces scrap created at manual processes by monitoring quality data and taking corrective action to reduce or eliminating root cause.  Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.  Complies and follow all company security policies and procedures.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

8+ years of experience in a related position.

Additional Specific Qualifications for position  4-year degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field preferred
