Job Summary
The Safety and Environmental Specialist is responsible for the site's safety and environmental programs, partnering with site leadership to accomplish goals related to safety and environmental processes and programs.

•Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools
•Ability to train groups of employees
Qualifications / Education / Experience

•Develop, implement, monitor and manage safety and environmental programs, policies and procedures
•Perform scheduled plant safety, environmental and ISO-14001 inspections and audits
•Ensure the facility complies with all current safety and environmental regulations
•Evaluate the site's procedures, facilities and equipment to identify unsafe conditions for improvement
•Assist in audits, maintain all records relating to environmental programs and analysis of OSHA and/or environmental laws to ensure compliance
•Perform periodic safety inspections as needed
•Identify and evaluate detrimental working conditions and make adjustments to safeguard employee health; Research and recommend safety equipment
•Maintain related safety/accident records
•Maintain familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures
•Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
•Perform a variety of tasks
•All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure Benchmark meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
•Two to Five years experience in Safety and Environmental practices
•Knowledge of local/state safety and environmental codes and OSHA regulations
•2 Year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
