Essential Functions and Competencies

Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Develop, maintain and control a realistic master production schedule by balancing customer requirements with manufacturing capacity and parts availability
• Communicate forecast and production schedule changes to Master Planner and Supply Chain supervisor
• Analyze potential impact of forecast and production schedule changes on component procurement and production volume
• Collaborate with customers, operations and supply chain management to appropriately manage inventory levels and minimize obsolescence
• Act as the key contact for analysis of new orders, change orders and new change analysis from customers
• Perform material and capacity analysis; Work with Scheduler to establish a production schedule for each order and communicate/resolve issues related to discrepancies between the requested and promised due date
• Monitor inventory levels and planned order quantities at both the component and assembly level; Generate action plans to ensure that inventory levels are optimized and disposition excess inventory to support business objectives
• Interface with customers, suppliers and internal resources for management of AVL choices and alternates in order to monitor or reduce product cost or inventory levels
• Manage EOL and other assurance of supply issues and support Engineering changes and New Product Introduction
• Assist the Account Managers in developing monthly sales forecasts; Update the forecast based on the planning process
• Develop, document and manage customer specific planning systems such as Kanban, safety stock, knowledge based configuration systems, vendor managed inventory or other unique systems
• Handle all tactical responsibilities associated with purchase orders and perform buying activity for local, regional and global purchasing initiatives
• Act as the key contact for analysis of new orders, change orders and net change analysis from customers
• Assist the Supply Chain Supervisor, as needed, regarding development of advanced Planning processes
• Develop decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory changes
• Train and educate supply chain analysts
• Act as lead buyer on initiatives, as assigned by commodity management
• Drive initiatives, analyze critical items and develop and implement complex solutions to supply chain issues
• Evaluate competitive offerings from suppliers to determine the overall best offer, technical analysis, operational analysis, cost/price analysis and make/buy analysis
• Participate on commodity team(s) responsible for supplier management and develop effective plans for supplier improvement
• Review data for accuracy and analyze the information in support of agreements
• Contribute to cost reduction program by making viable business recommendations and process improvement ideas
• Manage component throughput product life cycle (PLC)
• Comply with commodity strategies as directed by commodity management Experience Advanced MRP/ERP knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of supplier contract maintenance and sourcing techniques Skills in supply chain management and drive initiatives Strong leadership skills and effective oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively mentor coworkers
• Ability to independently drive solutions to complex supply chain issues with limited supervision Lead or participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format
• 4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management OTHER REQUIREMENT:
