Summary:
The Test Technician - Photonics provides support and debug for test processes in manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Performs debug and test assemblies to component level, as able, utilizing block diagrams and schematics
- Performs tester maintenance and upkeep
- Troubleshoots operator problems successfully, works with leadership on training and process improvements
- Provides training and ongoing support to the Test operators
- Communicates problems to Test Engineer and/or leader
- Assists in performing experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
- Recommends additional equipment needs to leadership and/or Test Engineers for the product debug areas
- Participates in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities
- Complies and follows all company security policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions\\
- Builds productive internal/external working relationships
Other information
- Proficient in moderate to semi-complex debug techniques on optoelectronic assemblies/subassemblies in a manufacturing environment involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
- Demonstrate Basic Analytical Skills
- Understanding of Optical Test Measurement and Debug Techniques
- Experience handling and cleaning fiber optics, optics, and/or photonic circuits
- Experience with BER test, Optoelectronic test, and passive optical test
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot current optical test platforms, including the software and hardware
- Understanding of optical test systems and processes
- Understanding of hardware and software of complex optical test platforms
- Demonstrate advanced problem solving and debugging skills with the ability to develop creative solutions
- Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Test and Measurement debug techniques
- Will be self-motivated and have the ability and desire to learn new procedures and techniques
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Proficient in Optoelectronics including advanced debug techniques
- Proficient understanding of fiber optics and light guiding theory
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot fiber optics or optoelectronics.
- Programming knowledge in VB, Python, Labview or similar is desirable Proficient in reading electrical schematics
Education:2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
