Job Summary
This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the U.S. Primary responsibility is identifying new business opportunities within the Aerospace and Defense Sectors and working within the organization to convert those opportunities to profitable revenue for Benchmark. Directly support Benchmark’s strategy for profitable growth by identifying and building new customer relationships, clearly understanding customer current and future needs, and executing selling strategies to meet those needs. Regularly responsible for forecasting and internal reporting of sales activity to company executives and will be measured to sales targets and MBO’s. Provide winning strategies strong team leadership to Quote, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure internal and external customers’ needs are met.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Meet annual bookings requirements and develop the required strategies.
• Investigate and understand the Aerospace and Defense market, and draw conclusions on market data gathered to identify specific sales opportunities across assigned region/market segment.
• Pursue sales opportunities through calls and visits; grow relationships and support quotes and proposals
• Coordinate all sales activities to produce best possible solution for identified opportunity.
• Communicates effectively with both the customer(s) and the Company’s internal teams to assist in preparation of quotes, proposals, site visits, executive engagement and pricing negotiation.
• Maintains and supports internal team in building and fostering long term customers’ relationships.
• Assists other team members as needed to ensure customers’ needs are identified and met.
• Regularly manage progressively complex, high value sales across assign region/market segment.
• Drives solutions to complex sales planning issues with limited supervision.
• Leads or participates in continuous sales improvement activities for winning opportunities.
• Accurately maintain and update account activity and opportunities in CRM.
• Extensive Aerospace and Defense sales experience is required.
• Experience in a leadership role, mentoring others in program sales tasks and concepts.
• Ability to make a good first impression and possess excellent professional communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to present to and interact with a broad set of business professionals, both over the phone and in person.
• Proven track record of successful profitable sales in large complex accounts, and consistently meets or exceeds growth goals for sales.
• Strong analytical conceptual sales/marketing skills.
• Strategic problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking and negotiating skills.
• Effective organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Effective negotiation and analytical skills.
• Effective protection of Benchmark confidential information.
