The Electrical Engineer I is responsible for the coordination and technical leadership of electronic hardware strategies and the electrical design and development of customer products.





Essential Functions and Competencies

  • Design and document electronic hardware for customer products and related electronics, with management direction, to meet both the customers’ requirements and manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide assistance to the Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test and ICT test for product, test and tooling development.
  • Perform evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan.
  • Create documentation related to an electronic design project.
  • Contact and work with hardware, software and equipment vendors.
  • Follow project plan; Report project status to leadership.
  • Assist in the coordination of electronic hardware engineering strategies for customers.
  • Assist in project proposals and associated cost estimates.
  • Participate in the development of advanced/new technologies.
  • Participate in research and development for new design methods and tools.
  • Assist with Design for Excellence (DFX) reviews and create necessary documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of DFX philosophy and promote with customers.
  • With management guidance, work with customers to understand requirements regarding a product design.
  • Communicate with customer technical personnel regarding technical issues.
  • Work with Sustaining Engineering (product, process, test and quality) to develop products that leverage manufacturing and test processes.
  • Communicate technical challenges and work with peers to create and implement solutions.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format.

Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Demonstrate a basic engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems and troubleshooting; Ability to utilize this level of understanding to creatively and efficiently design products and assemblies based on various applications and technologies.
  • .Demonstrate a good understanding of mechanism design; Ability to creatively and efficiently design mechanical portions of products, tooling and test fixtures based on various applications and technologies.
  • Ability to make judgments, with management guidance, using sound engineering principles and techniques.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
  • Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well individually or in teams.
  • Ability to take on project leadership/ownership with management guidance.
  • Require close supervision for completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with suppliers or customers.
  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of schematic capture tools, including but not limited to: Cadence OrCad, Cadence Concept, Mentor Design Architect, Mentor Design Capture, Mentor DX Designer, Veribest, Innoveda.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal with internal and external customers.
  • Available for travel up to 5% of the time, including day and overnight travel as required.


  • 0-5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, developing electronic hardware and software.


  • 4 year Engineering or Technical Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.
