Essential Functions and Competencies

  • Proven proficiency in leading cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, software, process development, test development etc.)
  • Expert in leading trade off studies and making decisions across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and be and expert in the area of systems engineering in developing products and technology
  • Must be possess technical domain knowledge in multiple strategic market or technology segments
  • Level of domain knowledge with specific product technology to make the R&D Systems Engineer a recognized technical and market expert
  • Strong, open oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Ability to work well individually or in teams
  • Available for travel up to 10-20% of the time, including day, overnight and international travel as required

  • Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Work on cross-disciplinary teams
  • Vigilant of technology trends and scientific developments in Medical, Industrial, and Computing markets
  • Work with Customers to evaluate product technology requirements.
  • Develop appropriate product architectures and plans to meet product technology requirements
  • Define R&D projects and associated cost estimates to demonstrate the new technologies
  • Provide technical leadership to multiple engineering disciplines, mechanical, electrical, software, optical, test, regulatory, etc.
  • Oversee the execution of the technical aspects of the R&D projects
  • Project level reporting
  • Assist in the development engineering strategies for customers
  • Communicate technical challenges and work with peers to create and implement solutions
  • Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
  • Initiate concepts for solving the most complex engineering problems
  • Prepare technical presentations for customers

  • 10 years experience in engineering
  • Engineering expert in advanced technologies and applications
  • Ability to provide technical support to project team members and on complex projects
  • Medical OEM experience preferred
  • Ability to provide technical expert leadership on advanced design and development projects
  • Ability to establish best practices for mechanical engineering group
  • Ability to act as the go-to person for resolving the toughest technical challenges
  • Considered an expert in his/her field


    4 year Engineering or Technical Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
