Our Moorpark, California location is looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist. The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for daily Human Resource functions to include, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, process payroll, managing leave of absences, affirmative action plans, safety, workers compensation, and procedures and legal obligations.

Essential Functions and Competencies

Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Primary focus for monitoring and updating the Affirmative Action Plan, as required; Contribute to ensuring that actions related to Affirmative Action compliance are in place and being adhered to
• Participate in various employee training classes and develop training presentations/materials Involved with documentation related to performance appraisals and other required documentation
• Perform department audits
• Assist in developing department goals, objectives and systems
• Responsible for monitoring and supporting company policies and procedures and federal/state regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, sexual harassment investigations, etc.
• Address and recommend resolutions to more complex issues involving any of the Human Resource programs (benefits, employee relations, etc.)
• Act as a resource to employees/leaders/managers regarding employee issues and interpreting Company policies, procedures and benefits
• Work with senior Human Resource management in a variety of employee relations situations; Offer recommendations for courses of action and resolution
• Manage and investigate worker’s compensation claims, process documentation, and provide course of action in addressing safety concerns; manage safety committee and provide input/recommendations to management
• Manager Leave of Absences and documentation
• Manage employee engagement activities
• Responsible for HRIS processes
• Assist in overseeing the on-site organization and coordination of production staffing and assist in full-cycle recruitment of full time positions
• Coordinate and manage new hire orientations, manage onboarding documentation and conduct exit interviews/process terminations
• Perform routine plant tours
• Ensure time cards are approved for payroll processing and process contractor payroll
• Assist in overseeing others in Human Resources in management’s absence
• May perform other duties as necessary to support the HR function or Division
• 5+ years of working experience in Human Resources
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment/manufacturing industry a plus
• Demonstrate confidentiality
• Demonstrate effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and creativity
• Demonstrate discretion and independent judgment when handling coworker issues
• Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
• Demonstrate effective organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends and off-shifts, as needed
• Ability to travel to other Benchmark locations, as needed
• Intermediate knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• 4 year degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Human Resources or related fields from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management OTHER REQUIREMENT:
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
