Job Summary
Works closely with Development Engineering Technical Program Managers (PMs) and Development Engineering functional management to deliver tools, data, and analysis for Business Unit measurements such as revenue, profitability, resource planning, and labor utilization. Evaluates, administers, modifies, and debugs business systems that aid Benchmark design program management and management in completing their jobs more efficiently and effectively. Designs and implements new reports to support project and business unit decision making. Works with PMs and management to analyze data and recommend appropriate action.

Essential Functions and Competencies

  • Responsible to design, write, and publish reports and perform data analysis for design team related to:
    • Business unit financial forecasts and measurements – materials costs, labor cost, revenue, profit, labor utilization, etc.
    • Timesheet completion and accuracy
    • Project pricing
    • Customer satisfaction surveys
    • Project forecasts and metrics
    • Primary interface for design engineering team to:
      • Finance
      • Project Management Tool vendor
      • IT (for project and business managements systems)
      • Financial auditors (DCAA, internal\external)
      • Works one-on-one with design team members (Program Managers, Functional Managers, etc) to review metrics and recommend appropriate corrective action.
      • Relative to design program management and business systems:
        • Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet end user requirements.
        • Configures system settings and options; plans and executes testing; creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
        • Investigates new data collection and software development technologies for implementation/development.
        • Trains user personnel in tools.
        • Coordinates system upgrade activity and assists in modifying and maintaining software and reports.

  • Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Experience with the following:
    • SQL, Cognos (or other business intelligence report writing)
    • BAAN or other MRP tool
    • Excel (Advanced user)
    • Proficient in the use of Daptiv, Microsoft™ Project, or similar project management tools.
    • Project cost accounting (ABC)
    • Revenue recognition methodologies
    • Software \ database tool administration
    • Demonstrates understanding of the project management process and design engineering product lifecycle.
    • Ability to show initiative with minimal direction.
    • Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring quality standards.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.
    • Effective analytical, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.
    • Effective interpersonal skills with employees and customers.
    • Ability to lead continuous improvement activity with complete documentation
    • Available for travel up to 20% of the time, including day, overnight and international as required.

      Level I
    • 1 to 3 years experience in Business System Analyst role, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management. Level II
    • 4 to 6 years experience in Business System Analyst role, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.

      Bachelor’s degree in MIS, engineering, business or related field
