Job Summary
As announced this spring, Benchmark Electronics is relocating its corporate headquarters to and building an Engineering Design Center of Excellence in Tempe, AZ. This design center will provide the surveillance infrastructure solutions for our customers. If you want to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment then this is the place for you. Essential Functions and Competencies

General duties for this role include but are not limited to writing specifications, architecture, design and implementation of a broad range of systems and products including: different types of lenses, sensors (both visible and IR), and integration of laser range finders / illuminators. The employee will also be expected to branch out of their comfort zone if the need arises to fill roles not yet filled, and so a fearless, ambitious, and dynamic individual is highly desired. The primary focus for this role will be to utilize your general knowledge of the surveillance industry, experience in camera solutions, and laser technology to integrate into a complete solution for the customer. Participate in the development of advanced/new technologies related to products, assemblies, PCBs, components, processes, methods and tools. Provide project level leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects.
Qualifications / Education / Experience
Required:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of relative experience in Camera Design
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing, integrating, testing and/or evaluating integrated surveillance systems
  • Experience using schematic capture/PCB layout tools (Altium or Cadence preferred)
  • Engineering expert in advanced technologies and applications
  • Ability to creatively and efficiently design electronic portions of products, tooling and test fixtures based on various application and technologies
  • Knowledge of digital & analog interfacing (USART, SPI, I2C, I2S, GPIO, PWM, and LVDS)


Preferred:
  • Strong experience using gimbals, radars, and lidar
  • Outdoor Ruggedization Design Knowledge (Design to Outdoor Regulatory Standards)
