Essential Functions and Competencies


• Uses hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies
• Learns and masters all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned
• Identifies electronic components
• Identifies solder non-conformance and correct them
• Effective communication, both verbal and written
• Responds to written and verbal instructions
• Works with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process
• Able to work overtime as needed
• Obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and be willing to cross-train in other areas
• Participates in a continuous improvement activity
• See job analysis forms for specific physical stressors of the job
Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
• Identifies, by sight, workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas.
• Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets.
• Maintains accurate material control within the work area.
• Performs inspection of own work in immediate working unit.
• Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate
• Follows and maintain accurate process documentation. Level II
• Able to perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
• Assembles PCBs of an intermediate complexity
• May use a variety of tools to perform tasks
• Serves as a mentor to lesser skilled employees

1+ years experience in hardware and/or simple optics assembly type activities

•High School Diploma or GED; ability to read, write, perform basic math;
