Precision Technologies Tempe, a division of Benchmark Electronics, Inc. has an extensive capability in mechanical manufacturing. Our customers are leading Original Equipment Manufacturers who require exacting precision mechanical production capabilities. Our product lines include Aerospace, Healthcare, Scientific Instrumentation, and complex electro-mechanical equipment. Our Capabilities Include:
•Precision CNC 5-Axis Milling and Turning
•Precision 5-Axis Grinding of Aerospace Turbine Engine Nozzles and Blades
•Close Tolerance (Micron level) Instrumentation Grinding
•Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) NADCAP approved
•Complex Electro-Mechanical assembly and test (Class 1K & 10K clean room)
•Functional testing
•Medium to Large Coordinate Measuring Capabilities The precision inspector verifies quality and approves the release of manufactured parts or assembly based on customer requirements and specifications.

Essential Functions and Competencies

This is a second shift position for mechanical inspector to perform first article, in process, and final inspection of precision machined hardware. The ideal candidate will be able to:
•Read and understand blueprints
•Identify non-conformances based on inspection to customer requirements
•Effectively communicate, both verbally and written
•Handle multiple and changing priorities
•Respond to written and verbal instructions
•Obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and be willing to cross-train in other areas
•Participate in a continuous improvement activities
•Be multi-skilled and/or possesses specialized knowledge
•Work overtime as needed
Qualifications / Education / Experience

•Is cross-trained in all mechanical inspection operations and/or is a specialist in one or more of the more involved processes
•Is able to use a wide variety of mechanical inspection equipment
•Can create and execute inspection plans
•Has experience in surface plate layout and precision mechanical measuring tool use. Capable of operating CMM is a plus
•Works with moderately complex processes and more difficult customer’s expectations- able to use more independent judgment with some oversight by supervision
•Serves as a mentor to lesser skilled employees
•Determines acceptance or rejection of products based on requirements
•Works with supervision on duties and tasks, selecting from written instructions and established procedures
•Completes all required documents and maintains records that pertain to quality control

0-3 years working with all inspection processes or a specialized knowledge in one or more processes

High School Diploma or GED; ability to read, write, perform basic-intermediate math; ability to perform moderate-complex inspection
