Job Summary
Designs and develops processes for advanced PCB fabrication. Performs medium to high complexity design assignments.


Essential Functions and Competencies

Preferred
  • Develop new PCB manufacturing processes, refine existing processes, and identify new process equipment for an advanced circuit substrate operation
  • Focus on complex level process design and documentation for Benchmark advanced PCB’s, resulting in products that meet both the customers’ requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements
  • Lead the development of advanced/new technologies
  • Drive research and development of new materials, processes, and tools
  • Perform complex level design duties such as tolerance analysis, material selection and selection of fabrication methods
  • Lead less experienced engineers in best practices
  • Initiate concepts for solving the most complex engineering problems
  • Prepare technical presentations for customers

Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Lead the development of identified new technologies
  • Drive and lead research and development of new materials, processes, and tools
  • Cooperate with Operations to introduce new materials and processes into existing manufacturing
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision


Experience Required
  • 4 years of PCB fab processing experience
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions
  • Proficient day-to-day project activity organization in accordance with development engineering procedures
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate an understanding of process design; Ability to creatively and efficiently design PCB fab processes for various applications
  • Ability to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques


  • Education Required
    • 4 year Engineering or Technical Degree (ChemE, Chemistry, MatSE) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
