• Precision CNC 5-Axis Milling and Turning
• Precision 5-Axis Grinding of Aerospace Turbine Engine Nozzles and Blades
• Close Tolerance (Micron level) Instrumentation Grinding
• Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) NADCAP approved
• Complex Electro-Mechanical assembly and test (Class 1K & 10K clean room)
• Functional testing
• Medium to Large Coordinate Measuring Capabilities The Process Development Engineer will Designs and develops processes for facilities, capital projects, customer products, test fixtures, and manufacturing tooling. Performs medium to high complexity design assignments.


Essential Functions and Competencies


• Creates new or modified designs for capital projects.
• Performs complex level design duties such as tolerance analysis, material selection, and selection of fabrication methods.
• Initiates concepts for solving the most complex engineering problems.
• Leads less experienced engineers in best-practices.
• Expert in advanced technologies.
• Focuses complex level process design and documentation for customer products and/or related tooling, resulting in a product or tooling that supports the manufacturing environment, (if applicable), to meet both the customers’ requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements.
• Performs intermediate level design duties for facilities and capital projects.
• Available for travel up to 50% of the time, including day, overnight and international travel as required.
Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Focuses on complex level process design and documentation for customer products and/or related tooling, resulting in a product or tooling that supports the manufacturing environment, (if applicable), to meet both the customers’ requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements.
• Develops complex level diagrams of components and assemblies.
• Performs complex level design duties such as tolerance analysis, material selection, and selection of fabrication methods.
• Initiates concepts for solving the most complex engineering problems.
• Expert in advanced technologies.
• Prepares technical presentations for internal customers.
• Works with customers to understand requirements regarding mechanical design.
• Works with Sustaining Engineering (product, process, test and quality) to develop products that leverage Benchmarks manufacturing and test processes.
• Participates in the development of advanced/new technologies related to plastics, sheet metal, castings and machined parts and processes.
• Drives and leads research and development for new design methods and tools.
• Provides research and development for new design methods and tools and incorporates them into the PT technology roadmap
• Helps drive the capital project roadmap for PT
• Follows project plan and reports project status to leadership.
• Develops project proposals and associated cost estimates for capital projects.
• Contacts and works with suppliers and vendors to assist with facilities and design requirements
• Focuses on basic process design and documentation for customer products and/or related tooling, resulting in a product or tooling that supports the manufacturing environment, (if applicable), to meet both the customers’ requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements.
• Develops basic diagrams of facilities, components and assemblies.

• 8+ years manufacturing engineering experience
• Familiar with advanced technologies and applications

4 year engineering or technical (ME) degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
