Job Summary Product Configuration Technician I or II with our Configuration Group.
The product Configuration Technician, working in a team environment, is responsible for maintaining customer documentation that supports product builds of electromechanical devices. Strong attention to detail, Microsoft Excel experience, and general computer familiarity is highly desirable.

Qualifications / Education / Experience Level I-II
• Perform Approved Manufacturer List (AML) and Bills of Material (BOM) compares
• Create BOMs and part numbers using the database to maintain customer documentation
• Review customer documentation for accuracy, clarity and compatibility with Company processes
• May create less complex Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Download customer data via e-mail, customer database accounts or FTP, as required
• File all related documentation Level II
• Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
• Prepare complex engineering changes based on Engineering Investigation Requests (EIRs) provided from customer, program office or engineering
• Analyze the effect of each change on the details of form, fit and function
• Submit completed work to the engineering department for consistency with prior engineering determinations
• Prior to final approval, review format of complex engineering drawings, parts lists and engineering changes for both proper format and content; Coordinate and/or implement appropriate action to correct any discrepancies
• Review engineering drawing release schedule and complete actions required to release and distribute advanced, new and revised engineering drawings, parts lists, engineering changes and related documents to designated company personnel
• Compile, input, verify and maintain identification status of data in the computer tracking system; Update data as required and provide lists and reports as needed
• Maintain drawings, release and unreleased, within the configuration database
• Advise supervisor of adverse conditions (e.g. excessive backlog of work, inadequate engineering inputs with change requests, etc.) and provide status reports to Program Office, Product Engineering, customer and supervisor
• Review and verify engineering changes prepared by drafting coordinators for completeness and accuracy; Provide assistance as required
• Revise and maintain all documentation per ECOs
• May provide mentorship to others in the configuration and documentation activity Level I 0-3+ years of experience Level II 4+ years of configuration/documentation experience of more complex customer activity and the ability to effectively mentor coworkers 2 Year Degree Preferred
