Job Summary
The Engineering Services Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies and plans for Benchmark’s engineering services. This role will work with engineering teams and subject matter experts to clearly articulate the technical differentiators of Benchmark’s capabilities and promote our offerings based on market opportunities, industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. This individual must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. This individual must also enjoy spending time in the market to understand problems and exploring innovative solutions for the broader market

Essential Functions and Competencies

This position is responsible for crafting the service/solution messaging and positioning, as well as conceiving and developing innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Additionally, this individual will work closely with field marketing and help oversee the execution of the go-to-market initiatives based on the messaging and positioning. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits are crucial. The Product Marketing team will be a buyer’s expert, understanding their needs and buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge into marketing efforts as well as the sales channel. This individual must also be able to communicate with all areas of the company. They will work with multiple engineering counterparts to define solution requirements based on market need. They will help establish marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping to define the product positioning, key benefits and target customer. The Engineering Services Product Marketing Manager will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for our engineering services offerings, working closely with the sales channel and key customers.
• 5+ years of technology product marketing experience
• Technical product marketing experience required, preference engineering design services marketing
• Very strong writing skills and ability to translate technical information into market positioning documents. Past technical writing skills a plus.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for a product, service, or division of a company.
• Demonstrated ability managing multiple marketing initiatives integrated with an overall go-to-market strategy.
• Exceptional knowledge of sales, marketing and development processes.
• Strong leadership, sales support, project management and training skills.
• Should be able to develop effective relationships and operate with senior level management.
• Should be an expert in forwarding thinking, market research, and should possess problem-solving skills.
• Ability to listen to intended details attentively.
• Proven knowledge in market and customer research.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, governmental regulations, financial reports and legal documents.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such a probability and statistical inference.
• Experience working with CRM.
• Efficiently work under pressures, deadlines, and stretch extra hours to complete assigned task.
• Exceptional effectual communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to align peer coworkers to strategy and initiatives.
• Enjoys working with scheduled deadlines.
• Works well with customers, vendors, partners, and management.
• Ability to establish coworker and customer trust and confidence.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such a probability and statistical inference.
• Willing to travel 25%
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
