Job Summary
Precision Technologies, a division of Benchmark Electronics, Inc. Precision Technologies Tempe, AZ is looking for a Dynamic Quality Engineer, who has extensive capability in mechanical manufacturing. Our customers require precision mechanical production capabilities and engineers who participate in the generation and review of various types of specification, drawings, and Acceptance Test Procedures. The product line we are looking to fill services the Aerospace and Defense industries and our capabilities include:
• Precision CNC Milling and Turning
• Precision 5-Axis Grinding of Aerospace Turbine Engine Nozzles and Blades
• Close Tolerance (Micron level) Grinding
• Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) NADCAP approved
• Functional testing
• CMM Capabilities Summary

Essential Functions and Competencies

• Assists with an analysis of routine contract requirements to determine what quality characteristics are to be controlled; manufacturing, inspection, test equipment required; special controls of special processes, and special skills needed to ensure their proper application
• Reviews the contract data/ item descriptions and requirements and assists with establishing the necessary controls to assure compliance. Participates in NPI activities.
• May review production and manufacturing specification processes to assure conformance to drawings specifications and contract requirements
• Assist with the establishment of quality controls over all production processes and testing during the product cycle
• Performs, when applicable, measurement capability and correlation studies to insure continual adequacy and capability
• Monitors special test programs on assemblies, components, special processes, etc. due to design changes and/or problems developing during the manufacturing cycle. Assists in inspection and testing of preproduction equipment to insure compliance to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements prior to submittal for customer acceptance
• Prepares summaries and analysis of evaluations, together with all pertinent charts, graphs, etc
Qualifications / Education / Experience
The Quality Engineer position will provide Quality Effective organization and prioritization skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Completes projects in a timely manner.
• Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.
• Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as, presentation skills.
• Works individually or in teams.

•Strong/Expert GD&T experience and knowledge with application to machined and fabricated parts.
•Strong/Expert knowledge in metrology and application of gauge measuring devices for machined and fabricated parts.
•Knowledge of statistical engineering tools for process optimization and problem solving.
•Ability to develop and prepare process documentation, technical reports and presentations.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization
•Ability to work independently while taking direction from and maintaining effective communication with department Manager
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office
•Willingness to learn and grow
•Knowledge of other manufacturing processes such as plating, welding, heat treating, and casting processes

•BS in an Engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience, 5 or more years of experience in a Quality Engineering position.
