Job Summary
Provides tailored quotations to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quotation packages for projects. Coordinates bid strategy with sales team and interprets customer requirements to offer supply chain architect solutions that maximize profitability and add value for both the customer and Benchmark. Ensures consistent, competitive and profitable material pricing. Communicates and practices pricing strategies in support of ongoing sales efforts.

Essential Functions and Competencies

• Proven ability to analyze various sources of information and familiarity with material cost modeling and margin analysis.
• Experience maintaining accuracy of quoting models and information in the operating system to ensure accurate cost and quoting programs.
• Experience writing project quotations.
• Must be very detail oriented and be able to efficiently organize information
• Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to others in the quoting planning activity
• Proficient in associated Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Access, Power Point) and QuoteWin/SupplyWin software.
• Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and associated tools. Baan, Kinaxis - Rapid Response or equivalent as they apply to the position
• Effective decision making skills as it relates to providing direction to the quote team, manufacturing procurement team and assigning priorities to meet customer goals and objectives
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when representing the company in supply chain related decisions
• Effective supply chain, planning, negotiation, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Effective leadership skills with coworkers and customers
• Ability to effectively mentor co-workers
• Ability to independently drive solutions to complex supply chain issues with limited supervision
• Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to operate on diverse project teams with minimal direction
• Demonstrate confidentiality and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner
• Participate in a continuous improvement activity
• Ability to understand and apply continuous improvement tools
Qualifications / Education / Experience

• Drive world class material pricing, supply chain strategies that optimize company sales and profit objectives.
• Analysis of information, data, or opportunities to make the best decision in how to strategically quote for purposes of positioning winning the business.
• Review customer specifications to ensure quote is technically compatible and competitive.
• Match preferred supplier capabilities to customer specifications by demonstrating knowledge of electrical and mechanical commodities.
• Coordinate with Sales Representatives to determine and/or clarify project requirements to ensure quality output.
• Understand, analyze, document and communicate contractual, technical and commercial terms and conditions relative to the company standard.
• Maintain a current understanding of bid strategies and market conditions.
• Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders, improve quotation process and measure effectiveness.
• Ability to work effectively in fast paced and time sensitive environment
• Maintain accurate documentation/paperwork and files to facilitate smooth transition to manufacturing sites
• Incorporate use of technological capabilities to improve processes and efficiency.
• All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction. 8+ years in commodity purchasing, planning, supply chain; Experience in large volume, more complex purchasing accounts/commodities; 1+ years in a leadership role. Superior level purchasing knowledge.
• 4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management.
