Essential Functions and Competencies

Develop complex designs of components and assemblies Make Engineering computations and write/edit specifications Verify completed work, checking tolerances, component selection and system requirements for their project, as well as Hardware group members to be used per the verification plan Evaluate quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan Assist with assembly of prototypes Participate in the development of advanced/new technologies related to products, assemblies, PCBs, components, processes, methods and tools Provide electrical project level leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects; Provide project leadership and training for Engineers Work with hardware, software and equipment vendors to understand Customer and BEI requirements Assist in the coordination of Hardware engineering strategies for Benchmark customers Provide technical support to team members and on complex projects All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
Qualifications / Education / Experience
Responsible for the coordination and technical leadership of electronic hardware strategies and the electrical design and development of customer products.

Demonstrate a basic engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems and troubleshooting; Ability to utilize this level of understanding to creatively and efficiently design products and assemblies based on various applications and technologies Demonstrate a good understanding of mechanism design; Ability to creatively and efficiently design mechanical portions of products, tooling and test fixtures based on various applications and technologies Ability to make judgments, with management guidance, using sound engineering principles and techniques Effective organization and prioritization skills Effective interpersonal skills Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills Ability to work well individually or in teams Ability to take on project leadership/ownership with management guidance Require close supervision for completion of tasks Demonstrate ability to work effectively with suppliers or customers Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools Knowledge of schematic capture tools, including but not limited to: Cadence OrCad, Cadence Concept, Mentor Design Architect, Mentor Design Capture, Mentor DX Designer, Veribest, Innoveda Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal with internal and external customers Available for travel up to 5% of the time, including day and overnight travel as required

4 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management; Master’s degree preferred 15+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, developing electronic hardware and software; 3+ years in a leadership role Engineering expert in advanced technologies and applications Proficient understanding of electrical design; Ability to creatively and efficiently design electronic portions of products, tooling and test fixtures based on various application and technologies Ability to work and provide technical leadership within the hardware development and project teams Advanced understanding, expertise and mentorship abilities in the area of specific advanced technologies, for example: Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design, Single Board Computer/Signal Integrity/ peripheral design considerations, power supply design, Radio Frequency (RF) design, etc. Skilled with intermediate or higher software programming techniques and languages Demonstrated effective use of lab test equipment, advanced analytical skills and electronic circuit debug
