Job Summary
Coordinates test strategies and develops test solutions for Customers. Test solutions may be in-circuit test (ICT), functional test (FCT), environment stress screening systems (ESS) or support systems for these developments.
Essential Functions and Competencies
• Possess an entry engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems • Demonstrate effective use of lab test equipment • Proficient analytical skills and troubleshooting of electronic circuits • Demonstrate day-to-day project activity organization in accordance with test development procedures • Demonstrate the ability to work within the test development and project teams • Demonstrate a good level of understanding of test development techniques and ability to apply test solutions for basic test scenarios • Possess advanced knowledge of software languages and programming techniques, revision control, and verification and validation techniques • Considered an expert in the use of test development applications (FCT: National Instruments TestStand, Labview, LabWindows – ICT: Agilent board test development applications) • Subject matter expert for technical problem-solving beyond use of typical methods • Possess an advanced engineering level understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems • Possess advanced analytical skills and troubleshooting of electronic circuits • Demonstrate an advanced breadth of understanding of test development techniques and apply test solutions for complex test scenarios • Ability to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques • Require little supervision for completion of tasks
Qualifications / Education / Experience
• Develop proficiency on at least one platform • Perform evaluation of quality measurements on a tester/fixture development in accordance with a validation plan • Create documentation related to a tester/fixture design project • Contact and work with test component vendors • Follow project plan and report project status to leadership • Assist in project proposals and associated cost estimates • Understand and contribute, as able, to test strategy development discussions on customer team(s) • Work with internal manufacturing support groups to understand the requirements of the production environment • Assist with design for testability reviews; Create necessary documentation • Work with Sustaining Test Engineering to effectively transition test solutions to production • Learn and begin to work with advanced technologies (Boundary Scan, ISP, embedded test, etc.) as needed and under specific direction • Develop an understanding of Design for Testability philosophy and promote with customers • Communicate with customer technical personnel regarding basic test issues • Communicate technical challenges and work with peers to implement solutions • Participate in test strategy development discussions on customer team(s) • Develop day-to-day project activity organization in accordance with test development procedures, including financial planning and review of financials as part of a project post-mortem • Focus on test generation and documentation, for product test solutions using standard test platforms or wholly custom test developments, to provide manufacturing solutions that meet both the customer requirements and the Benchmark manufacturing support groups’ requirements • Develop project proposals and associated cost estimates • Provide assistance to Project Manager regarding project planning • Provide project level leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects • Develop an understanding of Design for Testability and Test Strategy development and promote with customers • Drive initial customer discussions regarding test strategies and methods; Propose best test strategy and present strategy to customer, including early involvement during new customer engagements • Perform design for testability reviews; Create necessary documentation • Communicate technical challenges and implement solutions • Work with customers to understand customer test requirements regarding a product design • Develop and deploy processes and systems within the workgroup • Participate in identification of advanced test technologies • Provide technical support to team members and on complex projects • Lead or participate in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format

• 8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, developing test hardware and software • 1+ years in a leadership role • Master of advanced technologies and applications

4 year Engineering or Technical degree (EE) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management; Master’s Degree Preferred
