Job Summary
Provides support and debug for test processes in manufacturing. This role will work with cutting edge RF and High-Speed design. This role will focus will be on performing detailed RF test measurements such as gain, return loss, noise figure, group delay, frequency response, Intermodulation Distortion (IP2/IP3), 1-dB and 3-dB Compression Points, harmonics, etc. These tests are to be performed using both manual and automated tests.


Essential Functions and Competencies

Preferred :
  • Proficient in moderate to semi-complex debug techniques on electronic assemblies/subassemblies in a manufacturing environment involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
  • Understanding of moderately complex Test Measurement and Debug Techniques
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot current test platforms, including the software and hardware
  • Understanding of BEI test systems and processes
  • Understanding of hardware and software of complex test platforms
  • Demonstrate advanced problem solving and debugging skills with the ability to develop creative solutions
  • Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Test and Measurement debug techniques
  • Will be self-motivated and have the ability and desire to learn new procedures and techniques
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Proficient in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), including advanced debug techniques
  • Proficient understanding of ICT and Functional Theory and Debug Techniques
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot ICT and Functional Testers
  • Proficient programming knowledge for ICT and Functional Test Equipment
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of BEI systems

Qualifications / Education / Experience
  • Perform debug and test assemblies to component level, as able, utilizing block diagrams and schematics
  • Perform tester maintenance and upkeep
  • Aid operator in troubleshooting problems, as able
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the Test operators
  • Communicate problems to proper senior Test Technician, Test Engineer and/or leader
  • Develop skills and knowledge with test platform(s)
  • Comply with quality assurance policies and methodologies; develop and strong quality orientation
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards (daily use of ESD and safety protective devices: eye protection, smock, and foot straps)
  • Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
  • Aid leadership by recommending improvements in test processes and debug techniques
  • Debug medium complexity assemblies to component level
  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding product flow and work sequence
  • Document improved debug techniques
  • Provide training and mentorship to Test Operators
  • Monitor production processes and test systems to decrease No Defects Found (NDF’s)
  • Perform tester maintenance and up-keep and recommend improvements to test process
  • Provide training and mentorship to Test Operators
  • Perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above
  • Debug moderate to semi-complex electronic assemblies to component level
  • Troubleshoot operator problems successfully, work with leadership on training and process improvements
  • Provide training and mentorship to Test Operators and Technicians
  • Communicate technical information regarding Test with Test Engineers, Customers and Account Management
  • Assist in defining experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • Recommend additional equipment needs to leadership and/or Test Engineers for the product debug areas
  • Perform Engan screening before escalation to the Principal Test Technician or Test Engineer
  • Specify additional equipment needs for the product debug areas and assist in the implementation and training of the equipment
  • Assume full ownership of Test equipment, communicating problems/improvements as needed
  • Drive definition and implementation of experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • Assist test engineers with troubleshooting and debugging test and systems software for ICT and functional tests
  • Assist test engineers and lead the debug efforts in support of the planning and execution of experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction
  • Work with RF platforms and fundamental RF/Radio concepts and digital circuitries, such as microwave subassemblies, radios, and RADARs
  • Work with engineers in the RF and High speed design team trouble shooting and tuning assemblies
  • Trouble-shoot test/tune issues independently and resolve them on a daily basis
  • Experience testing RF/analog and digital circuits from schematics and/or diagram
  • Ability to tune and understand how to stay within the specification/published guide lines for the best performance and reliability of parts
  • Familiarity with wire bonding schemes


Required:
  • 2 year technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management
  • 8+ years of experience in test/debug of more complex electronic assemblies to component level
