Qualifications / Education / Experience
Job Responsibilities
•Ensures that materials, equipment and supplies are ordered and timely delivered in order to fulfill manufacturing process requirements and finished goods delivery performance.
•Interfaces with technical and management personnel regarding possible changes in material, quantity, quality or delivery schedules that may result in cost savings.
•Requests and analyzes quotations concerning items that meet Company design and specification, and checks for reasonableness of price on such items.
•Prepares Purchase Orders, and arranges for the forwarding of blueprints, specifications, material and tooling.
•Works with technical personnel in the design stages, and also in the quoting process.
•Expedite on difficult deliveries.
•Leads or at least participates in a continuous improvement activity.
•Reviews and executes MRP requirements and places or reschedules purchase orders on a variety of items status’ material to ensure delivery requirements are being met. 5+ years in commodity purchasing in a contract manufacturing environment; experience in large volume, more complex purchasing accounts/commodities
•Intermediate knowledge and experience with word processing and spreadsheet use, preferably Microsoft software.
•Will demonstrate a strong understanding of ERP tools (MAPICS or equivalent). 4 year degree preferred or equivalent preferred or combination of education and experience.
